Student achievement

Millwood honours those students who have exemplified what it means to be a Millwood Knight.

  • Each week, a "Knight" is selected for their contribution to the school life.

  • Every semester, a "Night of Excellence" is held to honour those academic successes.

  • Whenever possible, exemplars are selected for showcasing.

We are proud of the excellent work and effort all of our students demonstrate. This section of our site is here to recognize these "Knights".

ACADEMIC RECOGNITION

The school recognizes the major contribution that dedicated academic students make to the school environment. Recognition is awarded to these students in a number of ways:

Honours

Academic Gold: 89.5 -100%

Academic Silver: 79.5 - 89.4%

Academic Bronze: 74.5 – 79.4%

(Averages are rounded to the nearest tenth of a percentage)

Honours status is recognition of a student’s academic achievement over the year, or over a particular semester. Students who receive a failing final mark in any course during the semester will be ineligible for honours status.

Year-End Honours (for Grade 10 and 11):  Averages are calculated using final marks of all courses taken.

Graduation Honours:  Due to the widely varying course loads of Grade 12 students, the graduating average will be based on Grade 12 English or English Communications and the best four other Grade 12 level courses taken during Grade 11 and Grade 12, regardless of type.
